Do you have experience supporting children and young people with severe learning difficulties / SLD? Are you a patient, resilient and caring SEND Teaching Assistant who can provide personalised support? Are you passionate about helping pupils with complex SEND develop their independence and reach their full potential?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Rotherham, supporting pupils aged 2-19 with severe and profound and/or multiple learning difficulties. The school provides a supportive and inclusive environment with a strong focus on personalised learning, independence and preparing pupils for adulthood.
The school is looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support pupils with a range of complex SEND, including autism, severe learning difficulties / SLD and profound and multiple learning difficulties / PMLD, working alongside teaching staff to provide individualised support in line with pupils' Education, Health and Care Plans / EHCPs.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
- Experience supporting pupils with SLD, PMLD and/or autism is highly desirable
- A good understanding of supporting pupils with complex learning needs
- A patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A caring and adaptable attitude
