These inclusive schools are committed to providing high-quality support for pupils with hearing impairments, creating positive learning environments where every child is encouraged to thrive both academically and personally.
The schools are looking to appoint a Specialist Teaching Assistant - Hearing Inclusion on a long-term basis, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available from September. The successful Specialist Teaching Assistant - Hearing Inclusion will provide dedicated 1-2-1 support for pupils with hearing impairments, working closely with teaching staff to promote communication, engagement and independence throughout the school day.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with hearing impairments
- British Sign Language (BSL) qualification or practical BSL experience is desirable
- Experience providing 1-2-1 support within an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach
- A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential
