SEMH Teaching Assistant: Pupil Referral Unit

Salary: £92.63 - £130 per day

Do you have the resilience, patience and confidence to build positive relationships with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support? TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming Pupil Referral Unit in Stockport that supports students aged 11-16 who require additional behavioural, emotional and educational support. The setting has a caring and warm staff culture, where teamwork, consistency and positive relationships are at the heart of everything they do.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis from September. The successful Teaching Assistant will support students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours, working closely with teaching staff to promote engagement, emotional regulation and positive outcomes both inside and outside of the classroom.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviours
- Previous experience within an SEMH school, PRU, alternative provision or similar setting
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students
- A patient, resilient and proactive approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
