TeacherActive is proud to be working with an OFSTED Outstanding Special School in Bristol to recruit a dedicated SEND Teacher for a September 2026 start. Catering for pupils aged 3-19 with a range of additional needs, the school is recognised for its inclusive ethos, exceptional facilities and commitment to helping every learner achieve their full potential. Following the continued expansion of its provision, including the development of Briarwood South, this is an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming and highly experienced team.
The school is looking to appoint a full-time SEND Teacher on a long-term basis from September 2026. The successful SEND Teacher will teach pupils with Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and behaviours that challenge, delivering engaging, personalised lessons that develop communication, independence and life skills while creating a positive, supportive learning environment where every pupil can succeed.
The successful SEND Teacher will have:
- QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- A good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
- Experience working with children and young people with SEND, particularly Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- The ability to plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs
- Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
- A positive, resilient and flexible approach with excellent communication and teamwork skills
