TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND provision in Grantham, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The provision focuses on creating a structured and supportive learning environment where pupils can overcome barriers, develop confidence and build positive relationships.
We are looking for an enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join the provision on a flexible day-to-day basis, with the possibility of securing a long-term position. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will provide classroom support, encourage engagement with learning, use positive behaviour management strategies and help pupils develop their emotional regulation and social skills.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
- Experience managing challenging behaviour in a school, SEND or care setting
- Confidence using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
- A patient, resilient and proactive approach to supporting young people
