About the Role
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary school in Swansea that has a highly regarded Specialist Teaching Facility (STF) supporting pupils with ALN.
The provision has a strong focus on inclusion, small-class learning and personalised support, with tailored literacy, numeracy and communication interventions designed around individual learning needs.
The school is looking for an ALN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to pupils with needs including MLD, ASD and other additional learning needs.
Opportunities may include day-to-day and temporary part-time cover, with the potential for the right candidate to progress into longer-term or permanent full-time opportunities.
The Successful ALN 1:1 Teaching Assistant Will Have:
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable
- Experience supporting children or young people with ALN
- Experience providing 1:1 support to pupils with MLD, ASD or additional learning needs
- A patient, nurturing approach to individual learning and development
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow tailored learning strategies
- A flexible, positive and adaptable approach
