Are you looking for a long-term Team Teach SEND Teaching Assistant role where you can make a genuine difference every day?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with specialist SEND schools across Bristol and South Gloucestershire that provide high-quality education for pupils with complex additional needs, including Autism, severe and profound learning difficulties, sensory processing differences and behaviours that challenge. These schools offer nurturing, therapeutic environments where every pupil is supported through personalised learning, structured routines and a strong focus on communication, emotional wellbeing and independence.
The schools are looking to appoint dedicated Team Teach SEND Teaching Assistants on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals, supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis. You will use Team Teach strategies alongside a calm, consistent and creative approach to support positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning throughout the school day.
The successful Team Teach SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
- Team Teach training or previous Team Teach experience, or a willingness to refresh your qualification
- A minimum of 6 months' experience supporting children or young people with Autism, complex SEND or behaviours that challenge
- Experience working within SEND schools, specialist provisions, alternative provisions, care or therapeutic settings
- A creative, engaging and motivated approach with the ability to build positive relationships
- A patient, resilient and proactive attitude, with a genuine commitment to securing a long-term position
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
