TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School in Abergavenny, supporting them with their search for a Teaching Assistant. The school provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where pupils are supported to develop their learning, communication and independence.
The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a long-term, part-time basis, working mornings only within their Early Years provision. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide one-to-one support for a child with Autism / ASD, helping them engage with learning, communication and daily classroom activities.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience supporting children within an Early Years or Primary School setting
- Experience working with children with Autism / ASD or additional learning needs / ALN
- Makaton experience is desirable but not essential
- A patient and supportive approach
- Strong communication skills
- A positive and adaptable attitude
