Salary: £90 - £110 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a range of welcoming schools across Gateshead, supporting their recruitment for Hearing Impaired Teaching Assistants. These schools are committed to providing inclusive learning environments where children and young people are supported academically, socially and emotionally to achieve success within education.

The schools are looking to appoint Hearing Impaired Teaching Assistants on a long-term basis, with both immediate and September 2026 starts available. The successful Hearing Impaired Teaching Assistant will be supporting students across Key Stage 1 / KS1 through to Key Stage 4 / KS4, providing one-to-one catch-up sessions and tailored classroom support for children with hearing impairments. The role will require a proactive approach, excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

The successful Hearing Impaired Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with hearing impairments
  • Experience working within a school or educational setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, nurturing and proactive attitude
  • The ability to provide tailored one-to-one support
  • A commitment to supporting students with additional needs
