TeacherActive is proud to be working with a school in Gateshead that is committed to providing a safe, well-maintained and positive environment for its students and staff. The setting places safeguarding, health and safety and high standards of site management at the heart of its day-to-day operations.

The school is looking to take on a Caretaker on a full-time, long-term basis from September. The successful Caretaker will support the day-to-day operation of the premises, including planned and reactive maintenance, opening and locking the site, security checks, porterage, housekeeping, grounds maintenance and ensuring facilities remain safe and operational.

The successful Caretaker will have:

• Previous caretaking, facilities, maintenance or site management experience
• Experience carrying out general repairs and practical maintenance tasks
• A good understanding of health and safety and safe working practices
• The ability to carry out site inspections, checks and maintain accurate records
• A flexible approach to opening, locking, security and emergency site requirements
• A reliable and professional approach with a strong commitment to safeguarding
