Teacher Active is working in partnership with a specialist school in Darlington to recruit a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher with an ICT Specialism.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher who is committed to supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The successful candidate will deliver engaging ICT lessons up to Key Stage 5, adapting teaching to meet the diverse needs of learners and helping every student achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a SEND Teacher with an ICT Specialism, you will
- Deliver engaging and differentiated ICT lessons up to Key Stage 5.
- Support students with a range of SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs.
- Create a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment.
- Plan, assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals to support individual learning plans.
- Encourage students to develop confidence, independence and essential digital skills.
- The Successful Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching ICT across secondary education, ideally up to Key Stage 5.
- Previous experience working with students with SEND.
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to differentiate lessons to meet a wide range of learning needs.
- A patient, resilient and nurturing approach to teaching.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
