TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic full SEND school in Gateshead that provides specialist education for children and young people aged 5 to 20 years with a range of additional needs and disabilities. The school is committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every student is supported to develop independence, confidence and the skills needed to achieve their full potential.

The school is looking to appoint a permanent SEND Teacher (QTS) from 24th August. The successful SEND Teacher will deliver high-quality lessons across a range of subjects, providing general classroom cover while adapting learning to meet the individual needs of pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This role requires an experienced SEND Teacher with a strong understanding of supporting children and young people with complex needs and disabilities.

The successful SEND Teacher (QTS) will have:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Extensive experience working within a UK SEND school
  • Proven experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including complex needs
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across a range of subjects
  • A patient, compassionate and adaptable approach to teaching
