Do you have experience supporting primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs? Are you confident in supporting children with challenging behaviour and additional needs? The schools provide supportive learning environments where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The schools are looking for a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant for short-term and long-term opportunities, supporting primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The successful Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant will support pupils within the classroom, help manage behaviour positively and work alongside teaching staff to encourage engagement with learning.

The successful Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience supporting primary-aged children, ideally with SEMH or additional needs
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour in an education setting
  • A patient, resilient and supportive approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to work effectively alongside teachers and support staff
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to get stuck in
