Salary: £95–£110 per day, dependent on experience

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an outstanding SEND school in Epsom, which is looking to recruit dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2026. These are full-time, long-term opportunities with genuine potential to become permanent for the right candidates. This welcoming and supportive school provides specialist education for pupils with a wide range of complex special educational needs. Working as part of a skilled multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in helping pupils achieve their full potential. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored one-to-one and small group support, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs while promoting confidence, independence and engagement. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver personalised support, implement positive behaviour strategies and encourage effective communication using specialist approaches where appropriate. You will monitor and record pupil progress, contribute to creating a safe and stimulating learning environment, and support the preparation of specialist resources.

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, resilient and committed to making a meaningful difference to the lives of children with complex additional needs.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a SEND school or supporting pupils with complex special educational needs
  • A strong understanding of a range of SEND, including autism, learning difficulties and communication needs
  • Experience supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and within small groups
  • Knowledge of positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, caring and adaptable approach to supporting children's learning and wellbeing
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through TeacherActive
