Are you a caring, resilient and passionate individual looking to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people? TeacherActive is currently recruiting Residential Support Workers to work within residential and specialist settings across Colchester and the surrounding areas, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs.
The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play an important role in creating a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for the young people in your care. Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting children and young people with their day-to-day routines
- Providing emotional and practical support
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive life skills
- Building trusting and professional relationships with young people
- Supporting individuals with SEND, SEMH and challenging behaviours
- Helping young people access education, activities and the local community
- Following individual care and support plans
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns appropriately
- Working closely with colleagues and other professionals to provide consistent support
- Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes at all times
