The predicted salary is between 20 - 30 £ per hour.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient 1:1 Outreach SEMH Tutor to support secondary-aged students in and around Colchester. This role involves delivering personalised educational support to young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who may be out of mainstream education or requiring alternative provision support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions tailored to individual learning needs
  • Build positive and consistent relationships with students
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence and engagement in education
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet EHCP and academic targets
  • Provide regular feedback and progress updates

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with SEMH secondary-aged children
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with vulnerable young people
  • Must be a driver with access to a vehicle, as travel between locations is required
  • Flexible, reliable and able to work independently

Desirable:

  • Teaching qualification, tutoring experience or relevant educational background
  • Experience working within alternative provision or outreach settings
  • Safeguarding and Team Teach training (or willingness to obtain)
