TeacherActive is seeking dedicated and experienced Primary SEN Tutors to support pupils across the Enfield area. This role is ideal for passionate education professionals who are committed to supporting primary-aged children with additional needs and helping them achieve positive educational outcomes.

The Role – Expectations

  • Deliver tailored learning sessions on a one-to-one or small-group basis
  • Support pupils with SEMH, ASD, and other SEND needs
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Primary National Curriculum (EYFS, KS1, KS2)
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles and emotional needs
  • Provide tuition in a range of settings, including schools, community venues, and pupils’ homes
  • Work independently and manage your own sessions effectively
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and their families
  • Maintain a calm, supportive, and consistent approach to behaviour and learning
  • Communicate effectively with the Alternative Provision and relevant professionals

Each referral is unique, and further role-specific details will be discussed at the next stage. Tutors must be available to start immediately, with a full-time timetable available.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with primary-aged pupils in a tutoring, teaching, or support role
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEMH, ASD, or SEND
  • Strong knowledge of the Primary Curriculum
  • The ability to confidently deliver 1:1 and small-group sessions
  • A flexible and creative approach to lesson planning and differentiation
  • Good general education in English and Maths
  • An undergraduate degree and/or substantial experience working with SEND pupils
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A caring, patient, and practical approach to supporting young learners
  • Confidence working across varied environments and locations
  • Flexibility with working hours and travel
