We currently work with a SEND School based in Cradley Heath who are seeking a reliable and caring Minibus Driver to join their team. The school is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all pupils. Safe and consistent transport is a vital part of ensuring pupils arrive ready to learn and return home securely each day.
As a Minibus Driver, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of pupils to and from school and, where required, to off‑site activities. You will play a key role in supporting pupils’ wellbeing by ensuring journeys are calm, punctual, and carried out with care and professionalism.
Shift Pattern:
- Morning Shift: 6:30 AM – 9:30 AM
- Afternoon Shift: 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM (Exact times may vary depending on routes.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transporting pupils to and from school and school‑related activities
- Ensuring pupils are secured appropriately and supported during journeys
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any issues
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and roadworthy minibus
- Following school safeguarding, health, and safety procedures
- Communicating effectively with school staff and parents when required
- Supporting pupils with additional needs during entry and exit from the vehicle
- Adhering to all road safety laws and school transport policies
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A valid UK driving licence with D1 entitlement (essential)
- Previous experience driving a minibus or similar vehicle
- A strong understanding of road safety and safe driving practices
- A calm, patient, and responsible approach to working with children
- Good communication skills and a professional manner
- Ability to work independently and reliably on a daily schedule
- Experience working with SEND pupils
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
