Overview
TeacherActive is delighted to partner with a Welsh Medium Primary School in Barry seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to help nurture and develop pupils' learning in a vibrant and engaging environment. The school values creating a supportive space that fosters curiosity and enjoyment in learning.
Responsibilities
- Provide effective support to pupils across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2).
- Assist in delivering lessons through the medium of Welsh.
- Support pupils with additional learning needs, including managing challenging behaviour sensitively and professionally.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the Senior Leadership Team to promote a positive learning environment.
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience of working with children aged 5 to 11 years in a primary school setting.
- Fluency in Welsh is essential.
- Level 2 or 3 qualification, or a minimum of six months experience in an educational environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
