Do you have previous experience working as a Caretaker or Site Staff member within a school? Are you reliable, practical and confident carrying out a range of general site duties? Are you looking for a fixed Monday to Friday role within a mainstream secondary school?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school in Solihull who are looking to appoint two School Site Assistants to join their site services team. The successful School Site Assistants will work closely with the Site Manager to help maintain a safe, secure and well-presented environment for pupils and staff.

The school is looking for two School Site Assistants on an ongoing temporary basis from September 2026, working fixed hours Monday to Friday. One School Site Assistant will work from early morning until early afternoon, opening the school site, while the second will work from early afternoon until the evening, securing and closing the site once on-site facilities have finished, alongside carrying out general site duties.

The successful School Site Assistant will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Caretaker, School Site Assistant or Site Staff member within a school is essential
  • Experience carrying out general caretaking and site maintenance duties
  • The ability to follow site opening, closing and security procedures
  • A reliable and punctual approach to fixed working hours
  • The ability to work effectively under the direction of the Site Manager
  • A practical, proactive and hard-working attitude
