We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) to join our committed team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people by leading our SEND provision and ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
As SENDCo, you will work closely with staff, families, external agencies, and senior leaders to promote an inclusive learning environment and ensure that pupils with additional needs receive high-quality support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the school's SEND provision.
- Identify and assess pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Develop, implement, and review effective support plans.
- Advise and support teachers in delivering high-quality inclusive teaching.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals.
- Monitor pupil progress and evaluate the impact of interventions.
- Ensure the school meets statutory SEND responsibilities and maintains accurate records.
- Contribute to whole-school improvement and promote inclusive practice.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- The National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete it within the required timeframe).
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
- Experience of leading or coordinating SEND provision.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- A commitment to inclusion, equality, and achieving the best outcomes for every child.
