TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist Alternative Provision in Swindon to recruit a dedicated SEND English Teacher. The school provides a nurturing and therapeutic environment for pupils who have experienced barriers to mainstream education, placing relationships, wellbeing and personalised learning at the heart of everything they do.
The school is looking to appoint a full-time SEND English Teacher on a long-term basis from September 2026. The successful SEND English Teacher will be responsible for the full teaching role, including planning, preparation and assessment, delivering engaging English lessons to secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs, and working closely with pastoral and support staff to help students achieve positive academic and personal outcomes.
The successful SEND English Teacher will have:
- QTS with an English specialism (ECTs are welcome to apply)
- Experience teaching English at secondary level, ideally up to KS4
- Experience working within an Alternative Provision, SEMH school or specialist educational setting
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- The ability to plan, prepare and assess engaging lessons that meet individual learning needs
- A patient, resilient and proactive approach to supporting young people
