Do you feel confident managing groups of secondary-aged students and want to develop your classroom skills further? Would you like to progress into Cover Supervisor work, with training and ongoing support to help you get there? TeacherActive is looking for experienced LSAs and HLTAs across Swindon & Wilshire who are keen to upskill and progress into Cover Supervisor roles within secondary schools. This is a great opportunity for support staff who already understand the school environment, behaviour management and how to engage young people, but are now ready to take on more responsibility in the classroom. As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll supervise classes of students aged 11–16, deliver work already prepared by the teacher, manage classroom behaviour and ensure pupils remain engaged and productive. You don’t need to be a qualified teacher. A degree-level qualification would be preferred, but it is not essential. I’m far more interested in finding confident, reliable people with strong school experience and the potential to step up. What we’re looking for: Experience as an LSA, HLTA, Teaching Assistant or similar school-based role Confidence working with secondary-aged students Good behaviour management and the ability to set clear expectations Strong communication and organisational skills A calm, adaptable and reliable approach A genuine desire to develop your skills and progress Degree-level qualification preferred, but not essential We’ll help you make the step up TeacherActive can support your progression through our Cover Supervisor training and development, helping you build the practical skills and confidence needed to manage a secondary classroom effectively.
