I’m Dan, and I’ve been working closely with secondary and primary school settings for the past two years, supporting them with their recruitment needs. I’m currently working with a number of schools in Basildon and the surrounding areas who are looking for reliable Cover Supervisors on a supply basis. There may also be opportunities for longer-term roles for the right candidates.
The Cover Supervisor role involves stepping into the classroom when teaching staff are absent. You’ll be responsible for supervising pupils, delivering pre-set work, maintaining classroom routines and managing behaviour to ensure learning continues smoothly. This role suits confident, organised individuals who are comfortable working across different schools, subjects and year groups.
The successful Cover Supervisor will have:
Previous experience working with children or young people
Confidence managing a classroom independently
Ability to deliver pre-set work and follow school policies
Strong behaviour management skills
Flexibility to work across different schools and year groups
Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
