TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Pupil Referral Unit in Rotherham that is dedicated to supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes. The setting promotes a nurturing and inclusive environment, placing the needs of every learner at the centre of its child-focused approach and helping students develop both academically and personally.
The PRU is looking to appoint an unqualified Construction Teaching Assistant on an initial day-to-day basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate. This role is not focused on qualifications but on finding an individual with the right practical skills, experience and mindset to engage KS3 and KS4 learners through construction-based activities, promote positive behaviour and support young people to achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.
The successful Construction Teaching Assistant will have:
- Previous experience within the construction industry or a construction-related environment
- Experience working with young people, vulnerable learners or individuals with additional needs
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- The ability to engage and motivate students through practical learning
- A resilient, flexible and child-focused approach
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their potential
