Do you have experience supporting young people aged 16+ with additional needs? Are you confident supporting learners with Autism / ASD, Learning Disabilities / LD and behaviours that challenge? Are you a patient and resilient SEND Tutor who can adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of each learner?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a post-16 SEND provision in Doncaster that is looking to appoint an experienced SEND Tutor. The setting supports young people with a range of additional needs and provides an environment focused on helping learners develop their education, confidence and independence.
The provision is looking to take on a SEND Tutor on a long-term basis, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available starting ASAP. The successful SEND Tutor will support learners aged 16+ with needs including Autism / ASD, Learning Disabilities / LD and behaviours that challenge, adapting sessions and approaches to meet individual needs.
The successful SEND Tutor will have:
- Relevant experience supporting young people aged 16+ with SEND
- Experience working with Autism / ASD and Learning Disabilities / LD
- Experience supporting young people who may display behaviours that challenge
- The ability to adapt learning and support to individual needs
- A patient, resilient and understanding approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
