TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist alternative provision in Warrington that supports pupils aged 11-16 who have SEMH needs and are at risk of exclusion or have experienced barriers to mainstream education. The provision delivers a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach to learning, with high expectations, personalised support and a strong focus on helping every learner achieve positive outcomes. The school was graded Good by Ofsted, with Outstanding judgements for Behaviour and Attitudes and Personal Development.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated SEMH Cross Curricular Teacher on a long-term basis from September, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position. The successful SEMH Cross Curricular Teacher will deliver engaging lessons across a variety of curriculum subjects, adapting learning to meet individual needs while promoting positive behaviour, building strong relationships and supporting students to achieve both academically and personally.
The successful SEMH Cross Curricular Teacher will have:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching pupils with SEMH needs or within an alternative provision setting
- The ability to teach across multiple curriculum subjects at KS3 and KS4
- Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching
- A genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people
