TeacherActive is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a number of welcoming and inclusive primary schools across the City of Westminster for an enthusiastic and motivated Primary Sports Coach. This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate working across multiple primary schools, delivering engaging PE lessons, leading extracurricular activities and promoting the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyles among young people. Whether you are an experienced sports coach or looking to develop your career within education, this role offers the opportunity to make a real difference within a diverse and vibrant school community.

The Role

  • Deliver high-quality PE and sports sessions to pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
  • Support teachers in delivering the PE curriculum.
  • Lead a range of extracurricular clubs and activities.
  • Encourage participation, teamwork and confidence through sport.
  • Support schools with sports days, festivals and inter-school competitions.
  • Adapt sessions to suit pupils of varying ages, abilities and needs.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour management and safeguarding at all times.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children in a coaching, educational or sports setting.
  • A passion for inspiring young people through physical activity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to engage and motivate pupils of all abilities.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to working across multiple school settings.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 2 Sports Coaching Qualification or equivalent.
  • Degree in Sports Science, Physical Education or a related subject.
  • Experience delivering PE within a primary school environment.
  • Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding training.
