A welcoming and inclusive school in East London is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education and eager to make a real impact in the classroom. The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across the school, working with pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and in whole-class settings. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to help ensure every child has access to a positive and engaging learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with their academic, emotional, and social development
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery
  • Provide targeted interventions and support for individuals and small groups
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Monitor pupil progress and report back to teaching staff
  • Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or CACHE) desirable but not essential
