Are you passionate about inclusive education and ready to transform the learning experience for a young person in need? TeacherActive is seeking dedicated and adaptable 1:1 Tutors to deliver alternative provision for students across Cheshire West and Chester. These young people are currently out of mainstream education due to a range of complex circumstances, including SEND, SEMH needs, trauma, exclusion, or being in care, and your support could be the turning point in their journey.
About the Role:
You’ll work with pupils on a 1:1 basis in their homes (with a parent/carer always present) or in community spaces such as libraries or children’s centres. Every learner is unique, so you’ll need to tailor your sessions and build strong, trusting relationships to foster a positive and engaging learning environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver high-quality, personalised 1:1 tuition sessions in safe, agreed locations
- Build rapport with students who may have disengaged from traditional education
- Work collaboratively with parents/carers, education consultants, and local authorities
- Support reintegration into school settings or transitions to specialist provision
- Adapt your teaching style to suit a wide range of needs and backgrounds
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 6 months experience supporting young people with SEND, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
- Empathetic, calm, and resilient mindset with a trauma-informed approach
- Ability to plan and deliver creative, engaging learning activities
- Flexibility to work around individual learner needs and schedules
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
