Salary: £25 - £35 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs through personalised learning? Do you have experience delivering Literacy and Numeracy intervention on a 1:1 basis? Are you adaptable, patient and able to build positive relationships with pupils who require additional support?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist provision in Chelmsford that supports young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The provision adopts a nurturing and therapeutic approach, focused on helping pupils re‑engage with education while building confidence, resilience and independence in a safe and supportive environment.

The provision is looking to appoint a full-time SEMH Tutor on a permanent basis from September. The successful SEMH Tutor will be responsible for delivering 1:1 Literacy and Numeracy tuition to pupils with SEMH needs, adapting learning to suit individual abilities and helping students achieve positive educational outcomes through engaging and supportive sessions.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
  • Experience delivering Literacy and Numeracy intervention
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills
  • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
  • Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or alternative provision support
  • A relevant teaching or tutoring qualification is desirable
