Are you passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs through personalised learning? Do you have experience delivering Literacy and Numeracy intervention on a 1:1 basis? Are you adaptable, patient and able to build positive relationships with pupils who require additional support?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist provision in Chelmsford that supports young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The provision adopts a nurturing and therapeutic approach, focused on helping pupils re-engage with education while building confidence, resilience and independence in a safe and supportive environment.

The provision is looking to appoint a full-time SEMH Tutor on a permanent basis from September. The successful SEMH Tutor will be responsible for delivering 1:1 Literacy and Numeracy tuition to pupils with SEMH needs, adapting learning to suit individual abilities and helping students achieve positive educational outcomes through engaging and supportive sessions.

The successful SEMH Tutor will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
  • Experience delivering Literacy and Numeracy intervention
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
  • Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or alternative provision support
  • A relevant teaching or tutoring qualification is desirable
