Do you believe every child deserves the very best start to their education? TeacherActive is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a friendly and inclusive primary school in Lewisham for an enthusiastic Early Years Play-Based Learning Assistant to join their fantastic EYFS team from September.

This welcoming school is looking for a caring, energetic and dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting children during the most important stage of their learning journey. You'll work alongside experienced teachers and practitioners to create exciting, play-based learning experiences that encourage children to explore, discover and develop confidence every day. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and wants to make a real difference in a nurturing and supportive school environment.

The Role:

  • Supporting children in Nursery and Reception throughout the school day.
  • Delivering engaging play-based learning activities both indoors and outdoors.
  • Assisting with early phonics, communication, literacy and numeracy development.
  • Encouraging children's independence, creativity and confidence through play.
  • Supporting children with a range of learning needs to ensure every child can access the curriculum.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Helping to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working within an EYFS or UK primary school setting.
  • Have a genuine passion for Early Years education and child development.
  • Be patient, nurturing and enthusiastic.
  • Be confident using play to support children's learning and development.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
