TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic SEND school based in Colchester, supporting children and young people aged 3 to 19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to develop independence, confidence and life skills through a personalised approach to learning.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant on a short-term basis starting in September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils with their educational, social and emotional development, adapting to individual learning needs while promoting a safe and positive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with educational development, including lesson preparation and participation.
- Support pupils with social and emotional development through one-to-one and group activities.
- Adapt to individual learning needs and collaborate with teachers and therapists.
- Promote a safe and positive learning environment for all pupils.
Key Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly SLD.
- A caring, patient and positive attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
