A college in St Albans is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer to join our established Construction team. We are looking for someone with strong industry experience, a passion for the trade, and the ability to support learners in developing the skills they need for successful careers in the construction sector.

About the Role:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching across Level 1–3 Carpentry and Joinery programmes
  • Support students in developing practical skills in our specialist workshops
  • Prepare lesson plans, assessments, and learning resources aligned with curriculum requirements
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback and pastoral support
  • Contribute to course development and continuous improvement within the Construction department
  • Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge, including health and safety practices

About You:

  • Significant and current carpentry or joinery industry experience
  • A recognised qualification in Carpentry/Joinery (Level 3 or above)
  • A teaching or assessing qualification (or a willingness to work towards one, with support provided)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate learners
  • A commitment to high standards of teaching, safety, and professionalism
