Are you a calm, resilient and caring SEMH / Pupil Referral Teacher looking for a role where you can truly make a difference? TeacherActive are proud to be working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Carmarthen that supports young people with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), Autism and challenging behaviour.

This long-term position offers the chance to join a dedicated, supportive team that works hard to create positive change in students’ lives — and for the right person, there’s a strong likelihood of going permanent, giving you real job security.

Your Role:

  • Support students with SEMH, Autism and behavioural challenges on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
  • Build trust, provide emotional support and help learners re-engage with education.
  • Work closely with teachers, mentors and behaviour leads to implement individual support plans.
  • Encourage personal growth, resilience and positive choices.

At least 6 months’ experience working with young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour is required. Experience within a PRU, Alternative Provision or SEND setting is highly desirable. A patient, empathetic and proactive approach is essential, along with a passion for helping students achieve their full potential — academically and personally.
