TeacherActive work in partnership with the Kent CC and the VSK (Virtual School, Kent) to support young people who are currently out of education for a wide variety of reasons or needs. We are looking for dedicated and compassionate tutors to support young people and their families in the Canterbury area.

You will have experience in tutoring 1:1, in particular within the SEND needs described above and having experience of supporting a young person with an EHCP, ongoing health conditions, and developing needs. Being aware of trauma-informed education techniques and other challenges such as PDA would be a benefit but not an essential element.

Ideal Candidate for this Tutor position:

  • Experienced in working with SEND, SEMH, or disengaged/anxious learners
  • Confident delivering lessons independently and adapting to varied needs
  • Patient, empathetic, caring and resilient
  • Able to travel locally for face-to-face tuition

If you're passionate about education and want to help shape a better future for young people as a Tutor, we'd love to hear from you. In return for the above you can expect to receive:

  • A dedicated team of consultants to help you with the easy onboarding process
  • CPD Courses and certificates as part of the My-Progression channel
  • Market leading rates of pay
  • TeacherActive Referral Scheme - Receive up to £100 when you refer a friend (Terms and Conditions apply)

Our staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured that you're paying the right level of TAX and National Insurance and there's no messing around with admin charges coming out of your salary.
