TeacherActive works in partnership with Kent CC and the VSK (Virtual School, Kent) to support young people who are currently out of education for a wide variety of reasons or needs. We are currently recruiting for a tutor to support a range of young people from primary age through to secondary and P16, often working below their expected levels. Many of the young people we support will present with a range of needs, from ASD and ADHD through to EBD and SEMH along with other specific learning or medical needs.
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate tutors to support young people and their families in the Canterbury area. You will have experience in tutoring 1:1, particularly within the SEND needs described above, and have experience of supporting a young person with an EHCP, ongoing health conditions, and developing needs. Being aware of trauma-informed education techniques and other challenges such as PDA would be a benefit but not an essential element.
The Tuition Role:
- One-to-one tuition in the young person’s home
- Support a learner through personalised learning plans
- Deliver specific tuition and beyond where applicable
- Build trust and confidence in a safe, supportive learning environment
