Resilient Teaching Assistant Needed! TeacherActive is proud to be working with a vibrant and inclusive primary school in East London that is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is not your typical Teaching Assistant role. The school is looking for someone who can provide consistent support to pupils with additional needs, including SEND, SEMH, communication difficulties, and behavioural challenges. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Helping to implement individual support plans and interventions
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, families, and staff
  • Creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or behavioural needs
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to remain positive in challenging situations
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
