The Role

As a Qualified Nursery Practitioner, you will be responsible for supporting the learning, development, and wellbeing of children within the nursery. You will work closely with colleagues and families to ensure every child receives the best possible start to their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Plan and provide engaging activities that support children's learning and development
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress accurately
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
  • Build positive and professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Support children's emotional, social, and physical development
  • Ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence
  • Contribute to planning and nursery events where required
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to children's learning journals

Requirements

  • Level 3 Childcare Qualification (or equivalent) – essential
  • Previous experience working within an early years setting
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • A genuine passion for supporting young children's development
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
