TeacherActive is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Ystrad Mynach for an experienced and dedicated Teacher to work within their ASD Base. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate professional who has a proven track record of supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and managing a range of complex behavioural needs.
The successful candidate will work closely with the ASD Base team and the wider school to provide an engaging, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that enables every pupil to achieve their full potential. This is a temporary position with an immediate start and is expected to continue until at least Easter.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Have extensive experience working with pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills, particularly when supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
- Be confident planning and delivering differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
- Be adaptable, resilient, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment.
