Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:45am - 3:15pm

Pay: £102.56 per day

Contract: Temporary / Long-Term opportunities

TeacherActive is looking for enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Bury St Edmunds. No previous school or Teaching Assistant experience is required. We are particularly interested in people who are passionate about supporting children and young people and are looking to begin a career within education.

The Role

  • Support pupils with their learning both 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Assist the class teacher with lessons and classroom activities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
  • Provide additional support to pupils who may have SEND or additional needs.
  • Help create a safe, positive and supportive learning environment.

Who Are We Looking For?

You don’t need previous school experience. We would love to hear from people with backgrounds in:

  • Care or support work.
  • Youth work or mentoring.
  • Sports coaching.
  • Nurseries or childcare.
  • Healthcare or mental health support.
  • Residential care.
  • Customer-facing roles with strong people skills.

Most importantly, you should be patient, reliable, confident and passionate about helping young people succeed.
