TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Bristol that supports students aged 11 to 16 with complex additional needs. The school provides a structured, nurturing and therapeutic environment where consistency, positive behaviour support and personalised learning help students build confidence, independence and emotional resilience.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis from September 2026, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right SEND Teaching Assistant. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 support for students with SEMH, EBD and ADHD, promoting engagement in learning, managing behaviours positively and encouraging students to achieve their full potential throughout the school day.
The school is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant who is creative, engaging, motivated and committed to developing a long-term career within a specialist SEND setting. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
- A minimum of 6 months' experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour
- Experience working within SEND schools, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), Alternative Provision or youth work settings
- A creative and engaging approach to supporting students with additional needs
- A motivated, patient and resilient attitude with excellent communication skills
- A genuine commitment to securing a long-term SEND Teaching Assistant position
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
