The school is a specialist SEND setting supporting pupils across all Key Stages, each with an Education Health and Care Plan. The successful teacher will lead English across the all-age special school, teaching pupils with SEND ranging from Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties to Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, visual and hearing impairments, and Autism Spectrum Condition.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the English curriculum across all Key Stages for all-age SEND pupils.
  • Delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
  • Supporting literacy development across the school.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to promote high quality teaching and learning.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • QTS with experience teaching English.
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEND.
  • Strong understanding of MLD, SLD, PMLD, ASC and sensory impairments.
  • Experience leading or supporting curriculum development in English.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
