We are currently recruiting General Kitchen Assistants to support Catering Services across primary, secondary, and special schools throughout Bridgend County Borough. The role involves assisting in the preparation, presentation, and service of school meals while helping to maintain a safe and clean environment for pupils and staff. Flexibility to work across different schools within the county borough is essential.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous kitchen or catering experience preferred
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (training can be provided if required)
- A positive and reliable approach to work
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Understanding of hygiene and Health & Safety procedures
- willingness to work across schools within the county borough
- Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List check required
Main Responsibilities:
- Assisting with food preparation and presentation
- Serving meals to pupils and staff
- Maintaining a safe, clean kitchen and dining environment
- Laying out dining tables and chairs
- Operating a touch screen till system where required
- Supporting kitchen hygiene and Health & Safety standards
- Assisting catering staff with day-to-day duties
