Are you a passionate English Lecturer looking to make a real difference to young people with additional needs? Do you have experience supporting students with Autism and adapting learning to meet individual needs? TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND college in Bournemouth that provides high-quality education and support for young people aged 16-25 with additional needs, predominantly Autism. The college is committed to promoting independence, confidence and employability through a personalised curriculum, small class sizes and a nurturing, student-centred approach.

The college is looking to appoint an English Lecturer on a long-term temporary basis from September. The successful English Lecturer will deliver engaging English lessons tailored to individual learning needs, helping students develop their literacy, communication and functional skills while preparing them for further education, employment and independent living.

The successful English Lecturer will have:

  • PGCE, CertEd or QTS with an English specialism
  • Experience teaching English within a SEND or Further Education setting
  • Experience supporting young people with Autism and additional learning needs
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A patient, adaptable and positive approach to teaching
