The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support due to social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
You will play a key role in creating a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment, helping pupils to develop both academically and personally.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or within a PRU, alternative provision, or specialist setting.
- Exceptional empathy, patience, and understanding.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to de-escalate challenging situations effectively.
- The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced trauma or disrupted education.
- A calm, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting young people.
- The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience supporting pupils with SEMH, ADHD, Autism, or other additional needs.
- Is confident working with students who may display challenging behaviour.
- Can remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Is committed to promoting inclusion, resilience, and positive outcomes for every pupil.
