Are you a passionate Science Teacher with a specialism in Biology or Chemistry? Do you have the ability to inspire students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 to achieve their full potential? TeacherActive is proud to be working with a successful secondary school in Birmingham to recruit a Science Teacher. The school has a well-respected Science department where Biology and Chemistry are taught as separate sciences from Year 8, with excellent GCSE and A-Level outcomes, fostering a culture of high expectations, collaboration and continuous professional development.

The school is seeking to appoint a full-time or part-time Science Teacher on a fixed-term contract for the 2026/2027 academic year, starting in September 2026. The successful Science Teacher will teach Biology or Chemistry across KS3 and KS4, take responsibility for a tutor group, deliver fortnightly form sessions and work closely with the Subject Leader while contributing to a thriving department where large numbers of students continue their studies at A-Level.

Qualifications

  • QTS with a specialism in Biology or Chemistry (ECTs are welcome to apply)
  • Experience teaching Science, Biology or Chemistry across KS3 and KS4
  • Excellent classroom management and strong subject knowledge
  • Confidence using IT to enhance teaching and learning
  • A sound understanding of health and safety requirements within Science
  • A positive, organised and collaborative approach with a commitment to continually improving practice
