TeacherActive is proud to be working with a nurturing and inclusive school in Birmingham who are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant. The school believes in the transformative power of education, creating an environment where students are inspired through a dynamic curriculum, strong values and a focus on developing both knowledge and character.

The school is looking to take on a Learning Support Assistant on a long‑term maternity cover basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support pupils across the school by implementing planned learning activities, supporting children with additional needs, promoting independence and helping students overcome barriers to learning. You will work closely with teaching staff to support individual education plans, social and emotional development, behaviour strategies and the overall progress of pupils.

Qualifications
  • GCSE Maths and English minimum Grade 4 or equivalent
  • TA2 qualification or equivalent, or relevant experience supporting pupils in an educational setting
  • Experience working with children and young people within a school environment
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs and promoting inclusion
  • Ability to support both individual pupils and small groups
  • A patient, adaptable and positive approach to supporting children’s learning and development
