We are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join a welcoming and community-focused nursery setting across Bicknacre and Danbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Early Years professional who is committed to providing high-quality care, education and learning experiences for young children. The successful candidate will become an important part of the nursery team, helping to create a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where children feel confident to explore, learn and develop.
The setting takes a child-led approach to learning, with a strong focus on Curiosity, Hygge, Loose Parts, Forest-Led and Montessori-inspired play. The team also places a strong emphasis on school readiness, helping children develop the skills, confidence and independence they need for their transition into school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care, education and support to children in the early years
- Create a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment
- Support children's individual development, learning and wellbeing
- Plan and deliver engaging activities based around children's interests and development
- Follow the EYFS framework and contribute to children's learning journeys
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, independence and exploration
- Support child-led and outdoor learning opportunities
- Develop positive and professional relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection
- Complete observations and contribute to assessments and individual learning plans
- Support the nursery's school-readiness programme
- Work effectively as part of a wider Early Years team
- Contribute to the continued development of excellent practice within the setting
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare
- Has previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting
- Has a strong understanding of the EYFS
- Has a genuine passion for working with young children
- Is enthusiastic, reliable and highly motivated
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Is creative and enjoys developing engaging learning opportunities
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and children's wellbeing
- Is committed to providing outstanding care and education
- Can work effectively within a team and build strong relationships with children and families
